About me

I have Congenital Muscular Dystrophy which means I have weak muscles and use an electric wheelchair at all times.  My older sister Alexandra also had CMD but sadly passed away in August 2015.  She was an artist and her Anda Cards are for sale online.  I also have an older brother George, sister-in-law Jenny, niece Arabella and nephew Robert.

I live with my parents on a smallholding called Applefield in Sidlesham.  We have 5 dogs, 3 cats, 3 goldfish, 2 ponies and a donkey, pigs, sheep, geese, guinea fowl and chickens who all keep us entertained.

I completed my BA(Hons) Childhood Studies: Early Years at University College Chichester in 2005, and now I work part time as a teaching assistant at a local primary school, doing individual support work with children through the school.  In 2013 I was involved in the government's Disability Confident campaign and I met David Cameron to talk about my work.

I am the Chair and Editor of Wellspring West Sussex, a charity for families with disabled and special needs children.

I run my Craft Club on Saturday afternoons from the art studio in our garden.

I also run "Wheely Wonders" days here for families with children with special needs and disabilities.  These are run with my friend Jen and the families enjoy Forest School activities with her in the morning and craft with me after lunch.

This year I was awarded an Honorary Master of Arts in Education from the University of Chichester in recognition of all my work with children and young people.
